Who you should be following in the Crypto World

One thing you may have noticed in the world of crypto is that there are a lot of people out there pretending to be experts. Some review new coins on the market, some simply provide education on what each coin does and others attempt to predict the crypto market or do all of the above.

With youtube, twitter and other vlogging/blogging platforms around, anyone can set up a channel and proclaim themselves an expert so it can be difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.

We thought we would write up this article to help recommend the cryptocurrency commentators we believe to be incredibly valuable to follow.

Andreas Antonopoulos

Out of all the crypto commentators and educators, Andreas rises head and shoulders above the rest. He has been in the crypto game since Bitcoins early beginnings and has no hidden agenda or secret motives, he simply believes Bitcoin will lead to greater financial freedom and a better world.

He is one of the few commentators in the crypto world that is respected by all, his complete knowledge on the subject  is unparalleled and his number one focus is to help educate people and organisations on what Bitcoin is and the many benefits it offers. Being Greek, he has witnessed first hand how irresponsible governments can lead to hyperinflation and a loss of FIAT value of peoples savings and see’s Bitcoin as the answer. He has toured the world for years now talking about Bitcoin at conferences and gatherings (while only accepting payment in Bitcoin) and he has written numerous books and has a fantastic youtube channel that anyone from any background can find value in.

If you are new to Bitcoin we recommend starting with his Bitcoin for Beginners playlist.

The Crypto Lark

The Crypto lark is a fellow Kiwi that has amassed a massive following to his vlogs on cryptocurrency. This is by no doubt an accident as he has some great insights and educational material on many different cryptocurrencies. He comes at crypto from a great perspective, it is not just a tool to try and make money off of, but a technology that can bring liberty and freedom for all.

His channel is a kaleidoscope of varied content that makes it a great one stop shop for all things crypto. Here are some of the playlists he has:

  • Daily Crypto News
  • Interviews
  • Crypto education
  • Coin reviews

We definitely recommend subscribing and checking out his youtube channel.

Jimmy Song

Jimmy Song is what you would call an ‘original Bitcoiner’ he fundamentally believes that Bitcoin is one of the only coin that offers true decentralisation and value. You will never see him without his black or white cowboy hat and he offers no prisoners in his blogs and his debates with his no-nonsense style.

Although we don’t agree with him 100% on everything, he is a very technical commentator and provides some great insights on new coins and critiques on potential upgrades of current coins. He has also written some great commentary over the years, most notably discrediting ‘faketoshi’ Craig S Wright on his claims he is Satoshi Nakamoto - Bitcoins founder.

His Medium channel is a great resource and his most famous blog ‘Why bitcoin is different’ is an outstanding read on why Bitcoin is different from every other cryptocurrency.

And there you have it, the three people above are who we believe to be great commentators and educators of cryptocurrency and provide valuable information and advice. It is a good rule of thumb to do your research on who to follow and where to get your information from in the crypto landscape as a it can be filled with misinformation and bad advice.
